Who Am I?
Hi, I'm Caitlin
I’m a 20-something girl from Northwestern Ontario, Canada. My childhood was spent dreaming about all the different possible lives I could live across the globe.
I am passionate about getting out in the world, learning about different cultures and ways of life and seeing all this world has to offer. Hopefully, I can inspire you to do the same!
How I Got Here
I had some great trips growing up that sparked my travel bug. However, my travel journey really took off in 2017 on a road trip through western Canada. With no real plans or commitments and nothing but the open road ahead, I felt like I was experiencing feeling free for the first time. And I was hooked!
Still in university for the next couple years, working on a math degree, I took whatever trips I could fit into my schedule (and afford). This included 10 days in Guatemala after exams, a week in Ireland over reading week, 6 weeks in Southeast Asia over summer break, and tons of more local adventures. And meanwhile, I was also working on a plan for a whole year abroad for after graduation! Unfortunately, that plan hit a snag when I ended up graduating in the midst of the pandemic and had to rethink my plans.
This lead to months of living in my car in BC and travelling all over the province , experiencing the beautiful things my own country has to offer. And then, in 2022, I opened up my passport again. I booked a one way ticket to Nepal, with a week in Iceland on the way, excited to see where the journey would take me! After two months of trekking in the mountains, safaris in the jungle, and connecting with locals, I headed over to my next destination: Turkey. Now I am back to exploring Canada for a bit while planning my next adventures – stay tuned!
Values and Goals
I aspire to see as much of the world as I can, while travelling in a way that aligns with my values. Moreover, I want to meet people from every corner of the globe, learn about cultures different than my own, and get a taste of all the different lives I might have lived if I was born somewhere else. And in this life, the one I am really living, I want to fill my time with new experiences, natural beauty, and constant learning.
And with this website, I hope to inspire you to do the same. My intentions for this website are as follows:
- To spread the joy of travel and inspire others to travel more.
- To share my own travel journeys and experiences.
- To share practical and informative advice, tips, and ideas, especially on budget travel, female travel, and solo travel.
